The Barong is a mythological character and the king of the spirits in Balinese culture. It represents the embodiment of good and is often depicted as a lion-like creature. The Barong dance, a traditional Balinese performance, portrays the battle between Barong and Rangda, the demon queen, symbolizing the eternal struggle between good and evil. This dance is not just an artistic performance but also a spiritual ritual, reflecting the rich cultural and religious heritage of Bali. The Barong is a revered figure, integral to Balinese mythology and religious ceremonies, and symbolizes protection and the triumph of good over malevolent forces.
